Carlson Library Multimedia (Audio / Video)

Multimedia includes audio and audiovisual recordings such as music compact discs, VHS videotapes, and DVDs (digital video discs).   Supplementary material to books and periodicals in non-print formats are also stored in here.  You can take a quick 'virtual tour' to get an overview of what Microform & Multimedia can offer.

Our multimedia collections are found in the Microform & Multimedia area located on the west side of the third floor of Carlson Library.  The collection is staffed and open the same hours as the Carlson Library Circulation Desk.

Collections

Our video collection includes both educational videos to support the university's curriculum and entertainment videos (primarily to support the Theatre and English departments).  You can get an idea of the variety by checking out our list of most popular videos.

The department maintains a list of all of the videos (also in PDF, Excel formats), and all of the items appear in the UT Library Catalog.  See the Finding Videos page for more information about searching for videos.  Some subject headings used in the UT Library Catalog include:

  • Feature Films (longer films, often played in theaters)
